The Boulder Municipal Building required sign lighting to high-light it's signage without disturbing the night time environment and minimizing energy use and maintenance for the city staff.
Meeting Boulder's strict Lighting Ordinance and accentuating the local sandstone fašade were project requirements. Custom cantilevered narrow distribution wall grazers skim the deeply textured concave wall while illuminating the signage with warm color temperature light. Public art entry columns created a luminous frame to the sister cities' courtyard. The cool light of the columns contrasted with the warm local sandstone lighting.
