The Centerra lighting design creates a softly lighted, elegant nighttime environment for this retail area, located in Loveland, Colorado.
Highlighted stone columns, bridges, and landscape play a major role in the nighttime ambience. Street lighting is fully shielded providing just enough lighting for safety, but not overpowering the accented features.
All of the landscape and signs are lighted with extremely low wattage lamps of 20 watts or less. LED lighting grazes bridge columns, while LED step lights provide path lighting for pedestrians crossing the bridge. Custom designed lanterns house soft glow induction lamps that will last between 10 and 20 years.
With high color rendering properties and low wattage, all of the lighting blends together in a consistent theme. The lighting provides exceptional visibility at a fraction of the energy use of traditional lighting systems. The low lighting power density further served to reduce the wire size and overall infrastructure throughout the area.
The design achieved these energy and equipment savings while providing excellent visibility, reduced glare, and minimal light pollution and trespass.
